High Pressure Sensor / Switch: Testing and Inspection

HIGH PRESSURE SWITCH ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. DISCONNECT CONNECTOR FROM HIGH PRESSURE SWITCH

2. INSTALL MANIFOLD GAUGE SET

3. RUN ENGINE AT APPROX. 2,000 RPM

4. INSPECT HIGH PRESSURE SWITCH

(a) When the A/C switch is OFF, check that there is continuity between terminals and that the high side pressure is 1,128 kPa (11.5 kgf/cm2, 164 psi) or lower.

(b) When the A/C switch and blower switches are ON, check that there is no continuity between terminals and the high pressure is 1,373 kPa (14 kgf/cm2, 199 psi) or higher.

If the continuity is not as specified, replace the high pressure switch.
