Main Converter

REMOVAL:


1. Disconnect negative battery cable.

2. Remove engine under covers.

3. Remove No. 1 and No. 2 intake connectors.

4. Remove tailpipe.

5. Remove front exhaust pipe.

6. Remove idler pulley bracket and A/C compressor without disconnecting hoses.

RH Converter Stay:

7. Remove four bolts and RH converter stay.

LH Converter Stay:

8. Remove three bolts and LH converter stay.

Converter Removal And Installation:

9. Remove three bolts, two nuts, converter, gasket, retainer and cushion.

Converter Heat Insulators:

10. Remove nine bolts and two heat insulators from converter.



INSTALLATION:

Converter Heat Insulators:

1. Install two heat insulators to new converter with nine bolts.

Gasket, Retainer And Cushion Assembly:

2. Place cushion, retainer and a new gasket on converter.

3. Install converter with the three bolts and two new nuts.
Torque Value: 21 ft.lb (29 Nm)

RH Converter Stay:

4. Install RH converter stay with four bolts.
Torque Value: 43 ft.lb (59 Nm)

LH Converter Stay:

5. Install LH converter stay with three bolts.
Torque Value: 43 ft.lb (59 Nm)

6. Install idler pulley bracket and A/C compressor without disconnecting hoses.

7. Install front exhaust pipe

8. Install tailpipe, No. 1 and No. 2 air intake connectors.

9. Install engine under covers.

10. Connect negative battery terminal.
