Cruise Control Servo: Testing and Inspection

MAGNET CLUTCH TEST

Actuator Magnet Clutch Check:






1. Check that arm moves smoothly by hand.
2. Connect battery positive to terminal 5 and negative to terminal 4 (clutch "ON").
3. Check that arm does not move by hand.
4. If not as specified, replace motor.

MOTOR TEST

Actuator Motor Check:






1. With magnet clutch "ON," connect battery positive to terminal 6 and negative to terminal 7. Check that arm moves to open side.
2. Check that motor operation stops when arm reaches open position.
3. Reverse battery connections and check that arm moves to closed side and motor operation stops.
4. If not as specified, replace motor.

POSITION SENSOR TEST

Actuator Position Sensor Check:






1. Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 3. It should be approximately 2K ohms.
2. When arm is moving from closed to open position, check that resistance between terminals 2 and 3 increases from approximately 0.5K ohms to 1.8K ohms.
3. If not as specified, replace motor.
