Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove PCV valve.

PCV Valve Testing:

2. Install clean hose to PCV valve and blow air from cylinder head side. Ensure air passes freely through valve.

3. Blow air through air intake side of valve. Ensure air passes with difficulty.

4. If PCV valve test results are as described, replace valve.

5. Remove hose, reinstall valve.





6. Visually inspect hoses, connections and gaskets for leaks, cracks or other damage.
