Computers and Control Systems: Locations

Computerized Engine Controls Component Locations:

AIR FLOW METER:

Air Flow Meter - Engine Compartment:

The air flow meter is located on the left side of the engine compartment.

CHECK CONNECTOR

Check Connector/Neutral Start Switch Locations:

The check connector is located in the right rear portion of the engine compartment.

CIRCUIT OPENING RELAY:
Mounted in the relay box, on the left side of the engine compartment.

EFI MAIN RELAY:
Mounted in the relay box, on the left side of the engine compartment.

EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR (Calif. Only):
This temperature sensor is located at the EGR valve, in the line to the intake manifold.

EGR VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (VSV):
Located on top of engine between the intercooler and intake manifold.

ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU):

Electronic Control Unit Location:

The ECU is mounted in the center of the luggage compartment forward partition.

FUSES AND FUSIBLE LINKS

Location Of Fuses And Fusible Links:

INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR:
The intake air temperature sensor is located inside the air flow meter.

IDLE SPEED CONTROL (ISC) VALVE:
Located on the under side of the throttle body.

KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR:
The knock control sensor is mounted in the left side of the engine block.

OXYGEN SENSOR (OS):
The oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust manifold at the turbocharger.

SUB-OXYGEN SENSOR

Oxygen/Sub-Oxygen Sensor Placement:

The sub-oxygen sensor is mounted in the lower portion of the catalytic converter.

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS):
The throttle position sensor is located on the throttle body assembly.

TURBOCHARGER PRESSURE SENSOR:
Mounted on the rear left side of the engine compartment.

TURBOCHARGER PRESSURE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (VSV):
Located just behind the intake manifold.

VARIABLE INDUCTION VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (T-VIS):
Located on the back left side of the intake manifold, to the right of the turbo pressure VSV.

VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR (VSS):
Located behind the instrument panel.

WATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR:
This sensor is located to the left of engine on the water outlet housing.
