Computers and Control Systems: Locations

Computerized Engine Controls (CEC) Component Location:

AIR CONTROL VALVE (ACV):
The Air Control Valve is located on the right side of the air intake duct.

CIRCUIT OPENING RELAY:
Located in the center console, right in front of the ECU.

DIAGNOSTIC CHECK CONNECTOR:
The diagnostic check connector is located on the left rear of the engine compartment just behind the strut tower.

EFI MAIN RELAY:
Located at center left side of the engine.

EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR (CAL model only):
This temperature sensor is located on the left side of the engine in the intake manifold.

ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU):
The ECU is located behind the center console.

EGR VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE:
Located at back of engine, under the intake manifold.

FUSES AND FUSIBLE LINKS

Fuses And Fusible Links:

INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR (THA):
The intake air temperature sensor is mounted in the backside of the air cleaner housing, left side of the engine, just in front of the strut tower.

MAP SENSOR:
Located in the center of the firewall.

NEUTRAL START SWITCH:
The Neutral Start Switch is located at the forward left side of engine compartment, on the transaxle.

OXYGEN SENSOR (CALIF. ONLY):
The oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust manifold.

OXYGEN SENSOR (EXC. CALIF.):
This oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust system just past the engine.

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS):
The throttle position sensor is located on the throttle body assembly.

VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR (VSS):
Located behind the instrument panel.

WATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR (THW):
This sensor is located at the water inlet housing.
