A540E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MODIFICATIONS


A production modification has been made to the A540E automatic transaxle which allows the same fluid (ATF) to flow into both the transmission and differential sections. The modifications have been made to the A540E from the middle of May, 1991:

1) A passage has been added to allow the ATF to flow between the transmission and differential to improve the lubrication performance.

2) Transmission and differential sections of the transaxle are both filled from the ATF filler tube.

3) Increase in ATF capacity in transmission and differential.

4) Increase in the length of the bolts which couple the transmission to engine.

5) Shape of the rear engine mount has been changed.
