FEDERAL AND CANADIAN MODELS
1. Disconnect the AS reed valve inlet hose from the underside of the air cleaner.
2. Check that air will pass when sucking on the pipe.
3. Check that air will NOT pass when blowing on the pipe.
4. If not as specified, replace the reed valve.
5. Reconnect the AS reed valve inlet hose.

CALIFORNIA MODELS
1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the reed valve shut-off diaphragm and apply 15 - 18 in.Hg of vacuum with a handheld vacuum pump.
2. Disconnect the inlet hose from the AS reed valve pipe.
3. Check that air will pass when sucking on the pipe.
4. Check that air will NOT pass when blowing on the pipe.
5. If not as specified, replace the reed valve.
6. Release the vacuum from the shut-off diaphragm and check that NO air passes in either direction.
7. If not as specified, replace the reed valve.
8. Reconnect all the hoses.
