1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove two bolts attaching ball joint to steering knuckle, Fig. 11.
3. Remove stabilizer bar nut, retainer and cushion.
4. Remove lower arm as follows:
a. Jack up opposite wheel until vehicle body lifts off support.
b. Loosen lower arm bolt, pry lower arm and pull out bolt.
c. Disconnect lower arm from stabilizer bar. Do not lose caster adjusting spacer.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Torque lower arm to ball joint nut to 58 ft. lbs., the lower arm to steering knuckle attaching nuts to 59 ft. lbs. the stabilizer bar to lower arm attaching nut to 78 ft. lbs. and the lower arm to body attaching bolt to 83 ft. lbs. on 1984-86 models, or 105 ft. lbs. on 1987-88 models.

SEDAN

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove bolt and 2 nuts to disconnect lower control arm from steering knuckle, Fig. 9.
3. Remove nut at stabilizer link and disconnect stabilizer bar from lower control arm.
4. Remove front and rear bracket bolts and remove lower control arm.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following torque specifications: ball joint nuts and bolts, 59 ft. lbs. (80 Nm); stabilizer bar to lower control arm, 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm). Lower vehicle and allow the weight to rest on suspension. Bounce vehicle several times to settle suspension, then torque front bracket bolt, 108 ft. lbs. (147 Nm) and rear bracket bolts, 64 ft. lbs. (87 Nm).
