TITLE 1988 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE


Since 1986, the majority of Toyota models have a uniform 10,000 miles/12 months maintenance schedule making it simpler for everyone to remember when required maintenance is due.

For the following 1988 models, the normal (Minimum) scheduled maintenance intervals will be as follows:

GROUP ONE - PASSENGER CARS AND 4X2 TRUCKS

(1) 10,000 Miles/12 Months

Maintenance service, including oil and oil filter change, is required every 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever occurs first.

1-1 AL -- Tercel with 3A-C Engine
1-2 EL -- Tercel with 3E-C Engine
1-3 AE -- Corolla with 4A-F Engine
1-4 AE -- FX Corolla with 4A-LC Engine
1-5 AW -- MR2 with 4A-GZE Engine
1-6 ST -- Celica with 3S-FE Engine
1-7 MA -- Supra with 7M-GE Engine
1-8 SV -- Camry with 3S-FE Engine
1-9 MX -- Cressida with 5M-GE Engine
1-10 RN -- 4 x 2 Trucks with 22R Engine

(2) 10,000 Miles/12 Months

Maintenance service, including oil and oil filter change, is required every 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever occurs first, and an addition of one time idle speed inspection at the first maintenance.

2-1 AE -- FX Corolla with 4A-GE Engine
2-2 AE -- Corolla with 4A-GE Engine
2-3 AW -- MR2 with 4A-GE Engine
2-4 ST -- Celica with 3S-GE Engine
2-5 YR -- Van with 4Y-E Engine
2-6 RN -- 4 X 2 Truck with 22R-E Engine
However, the maintenance intervals for the following models are different from above models due to the unique nature of the engine and/or chassis system:

GROUP TWO - EXCEPTIONS

(1) 5,000 Miles/6 Months

Oil change every 5,000 miles or six months, oil and oil filter change every 10,000 miles or 12 months, chassis related maintenance every 20,000 miles or 24 months, and engine related maintenance every 30,000 miles or 36 months, whichever occurs first.

3-1 ST -- Celica with 3S-GTE Gasoline Turbo Engine
3-2 MA -- Supra with 7M-GTE Gasoline Turbo Ensine

4-1 RN -- 4X2 Trucks with 22R-TE Gasoline Turbo Engine

(2) 10,000, 15,000, 30,000 Miles/12, 18, 30 Months

Oil and oil filter change every 10,000 miles or 12 months, engine related maintenance every 30,000 miles or 36 months, and chassis related maintenance every 15,000 miles or 18 months, whichever occurs first and an addition of one time idle speed inspection at the first maintenance.


5-1 RN -- 4 x 4 Trucks with 22R-E Engine


(3) 10,000, 15,000 Miles/12 Months, 18 Months

Oil and oil filter change every 10,000 miles or 12 months, engine and chassis related maintenance every 15,000 miles or 18 months, whichever occurs first.

6-1 FJ -- Land Cruiser with 3F-E Engine



SEVERE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

Several items require more frequent service under severe driving conditions as described in both the Owners Manuals and Repair Manuals. The guidelines for which maintenance schedule to follow - severe or normal - is shown below and in all 1988 Owner's manuals.
