Before disconnecting EFI wiring connectors or terminals, first disconnect power source by either turning the ignition switch to the OFF position or disconnecting the battery cables. If a new battery is going to be installed, do not interchange battery cable polarity as serious system damage will result.
Do not subject system components to severe impacts during removal or installation. Handle all components with care.
Do not open the ECU cover. Ensure to prevent water entry onto system components. Replace worn or damaged components as an assembly.
Use care when disconnecting wiring electrical connectors. Also, during installation, ensure connectors are completely seated and properly locked. When using a volt/ohmmeter during inspection of an electrical connector, insert tester probe into the connector from the wire side. Do not apply force to the terminal when checking. After checking, install the waterproof rubber protector back onto the electrical connector securely.
