Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE TERMINAL OF BATTERY.
2. DISCONNECT VACUUM SENSING HOSE.
3. DISCONNECT FUEL RETURN PIPE.
a. Put a suitable container or shop towel under the pressure regulator.
b. Remove the union bolt and two gaskets, and disconnect the return pipe.
NOTE: Slowly loosen the union bolt.
4. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR.
Remove the two bolts. and pull out the pressure regulator.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR.
a. Apply a light coat of gasoline to a new 0-ring, and install it to the pressure regulator.
b. Install the pressure regulator with the two bolts.
Torque: 55 kg-cm (48 in-lb, 5.4 N.m)
2. CONNECT FUEL RETURN PIPE.
Install the return pipe with new two gaskets and the union bolt.
Torque: 180 kg-cm (13 ft-lb, 18 N.m)
3. CONNECT VACUUM SENSING HOSE.
4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE TERMINAL OF BATTERY.
5. CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKAGE.
