TITLE 1987 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
Since 1986, the majority of Toyota models have a uniform 10,000 miles/12 months maintenance schedule making it simpler for everyone to remember when required maintenance is due.

For the following 1987 models, the normal (Minimum) scheduled maintenance intervals will be as follows:

GROUP ONE-PASSENGER CARS AND 4X2 TRUCKS

Maintenance service, including oil and filter change, is required every 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever occurs first.

(1) AL -- Tercel with 3A-C Engine
(2) EL -- Tercel with 3E-C Engine
(3) AE -- FWD Corolla with 4A-LC Engine
(4) AE -- FWD Corolla (FX) with 4A-GE and 4A-LC Engines
(5) AE -- RWD Corolla with 4A-C Engine
(6) AE -- RWD Corolla with 4A-GE Engine
(7) ST -- Celica with 3S-FE Engine
(8) ST -- Celica with 3S-GEL Engine
(9) MA -- Supra with 7M-GE Engine
(10) SV -- Camry with 3S-FE Engine
(11) AW -- MR2 with 4A-GE Engine
(12) MX -- Cressida with 5M-GE Engine
(13) YR -- Van with 4Y-E Engine
(14) RN -- 4x2 Trucks with 22R and 22R-E Engines


However, the maintenance intervals for the following models are different from above models due to the unique nature of the engine and/or chassis system:

GROUP TWO - Exceptions

Oil change every 5,000 miles or six months, oil and oil filter change every 10,000 miles or 12 months, chassis related maintenance every 20,000 miles or 24 months, and engine related maintenance every 30,000 miles or 36 months, whichever occurs first.

(15) MA -- Supra with 7M-GTE Gasoline Turbo Engine

(16) RN -- 4X2 Trucks with 22R-TE gasoline Turbo Engine
GROUP TWO - Exceptions Cont'd

Oil and filter change every 10,000 miles or 12 months, engine related maintenance every 30,000 miles or 36 months, and chassis related maintenance every 15,000 miles or 18 months, whichever occurs first.

(17) RN -- 4X4 Trucks with 22R and 22R-E Engine

(18) FJ -- Landcruiser with 2F Engine which requires valve clearance inspection at every 15,000 miles or 18 months, whichever occurs first.

Oil change every 5,000 miles or 6 months, oil and oil filter every 10,000 miles or 12 months, engine related maintence every 30,000 miles or 36 months and chassis related maintenance every 15,000 miles or 18 months, whichever occurs first.

(19) RN -- 4x4 Trucks with 22R-TE gasoline Turbo Engine



SEVERE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

Several items require more frequent service under severe driving conditions as described in both the Owners Manuals and Repair Manuals. The guidelines for which maintenance schedule to follow - severe or normal - is shown below and in all 1987 Owner's manuals.
