Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

Horns And Center Brace:

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable and discharge system refrigerant.

2. Remove front grill, hood lock brace, center brace with horn, then the washer tank with bracket.

Liquid Tube Location:

3. Disconnect discharge hose and suction hose, capping all openings.

4. Disconnect refrigerant lines at condenser, capping all openings.

Condenser Fastener Locations:

5. Remove four condenser mounting nuts and bolts, then the condenser.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the four condenser nuts, making sure therubber cusions fit on the mounting flanges correctly.

2. Connect liquid tube, and discharge hose to condenser.
Torque:
Liquid Tube.......135 kg-cm (10 ft-lb, 13 N.m)
Discharge hose....250 kg-cm (18 ft-lb, 25 N.m)

3. Install hood lock brace, center brace with horn, washer tank with bracket, and grill.

4. Evacuate and recharge system and check for leaks. If condenser was replaced, add 1.4-1.7 oz. of new refrigerant oil to compressor.
