FIELD FIX PROCEDURE (FOR VEHICLES PRODUCED PRIOR TO MARCH 1986)

1. Install the restrictor in the vacuum line connecting the "R" port on the EGR vacuum modulator to the EGR "R" port on the carburetor. (See page 15 for part number information.)

2. Reset ignition timing to 3~ BTDC (with vacuum advance disconnected and plugged). Distributor replacement is not necessary. The distributor change is for production only.

NOTE:

Affix the Vehicle, Emission Control Information Label provided with the field fix kit, and discard the Vacuum Hose Information Label.
