M/T - New Synchonizer Ring Improves Shift Feel

To improve 1st and 2nd gear shift feeling in the C5# Series Transaxles, the rigidity of No. 1 synchronizers has been increased.

SYNCHRONIZER RINGS:

To increase the rigidity of the No. 1 synchronizer rings, the shape was changed. To accommodate the new synchronizer rings, the No. 1 shift keys were also changed. (See illustration #1)
Dimension A: Old 0.158 in. (4 mm) Dimension B: Old 0.925 in. (23.5 mm)
New 0.189 in. (4.8 mm) New 0.862 in. (21.9 mm)

Interchangeability:

New style synchronizer rings and synchromesh shifting key must be changed as a set if used on pre-production change vehicles.
