(a) Insert the timing belt.

NOTE: If reusing the timing belt, install with the arrow pointing in the direction of engine revolution.

(b) Slowly lower the engine. Install the RH engine mounting bolt and two insulator nuts. Torque the nuts and bolt.

Torque: 800 kg-cm (58 ft-lb, 78 N.m)

(C) Install the four mounting bolts and two covers.

Torque: 400 kg-cm (29 ft-lb, 39 N.m)

(d) Set off the jack.

2. Install camshaft timing pulley.

(a) Align the camshaft knock pin and camshaft timing pulley.
(b) Secure the camshaft and tighten the camshaft timing pulley bolt.

Torque: 475 kg-cm (34 ft-lb, 47 N.m)

(c) Align the bearing cap mark and the center of the small hole on the camshaft timing pulley.

NOTE: Remove any oil or water on the camshaft timing pulley and keep it clean.

NOTE: Remove any oil or water on the crankshaft timing pulley and keep it clean.

5. Install timing belt idler pulley.
(a) Temporarily install the timing belt idler pulley with the mount bolt.
(b) Install the tension spring.
(c) Pry the timing belt idler pulley toward the left as far as it will go and temporarily tighten it.

NOTE: Remove any oil or water on the idler pulley and keep It clean.

6. Install timing belt.

NOTE: if reusing the timing belt, align the points marked during removal and install the belt with the arrow pointing in the direction of engine revolution.

7. Check valve timing and timing belt tension.

(a) Loosen the timing belt idler pulley mount bolt.

(b) Temporarily install the crank pulley bolt and turn the crankshaft two revolutions from TDC to TDC.

NOTE: Always turn the crankshaft clockwise.

(c) Check the valve timing.
Insure that each pulley aligns with the marks as shown in the figure.

(d) Tighten the timing belt idler pulley mounting bolt.

Torque: 375 kg-cm (27 ft-lb, 37 N.m)

(e) Measure the timing belt deflection as shown in the figure

Timing belt deflection: 6 - 7 mm (0.24 - 0.28 in. at 2 kg (4.4 lb, 20 N)

(f) If the measured value is not within standard, readjust with the idler pulley.
(g) Remove the temporarily installed crank pulley bolt.

8. Install timing belt guide.
9. Install No.2 timing belt covers with gasket.
10. Install crankshaft pulley.
