Warranty - Tire Alignment Wear Claims

SUBJECT: TIRE REPLACEMENT DUE TO AN ALIGNMENT PROBLEM


Due to the increasing problem of dealer debits resulting from the incorrect submission of tire warranty claims, the following guidelines should be followed to set up a claim when tires are replaced, due to an alignment problem.

1. Use a regular claim format to prepare the claim. This will eliminate the need to enter data in the tire information fields.

2. Use operation code 420991 (Alignment).

3. Use the tie rod as the original part number.

4. Enter a condition, cause and remedy specifying that the cause is alignment related.

5. List the tires replaced in the replacement part field.

6. Enter the required labor hours or applicable sublet to repair the alignment problem on the claim. Do not submit a separate claim to cover the alignment repair.
