SUBJECT: Warranty Procedures for Camry Brake Pulsation Field Fix


The following guidelines should be used when submitting warranty claims for repairs to Camry brakes following the instructions distributed to dealers in TSB Volume VIII, #3 - revised.

Warranty coverage for the brake components on vehicles referenced in this TSB (1983 through 1986 model year) is 12 months/12,500 miles, whichever occurs first. Contact your district service manager for consideration of goodwill assistance for repairs to vehicles beyond these warranty guidelines.

Warranty claims for vehicles repaired according to the field fix procedures should be submitted as follows:

771011 Front brake and steering mainshaft 6.8 hours
replacement

771012 Front brake, steering mainshaft 7.3 hours
and caliper replacement

771013 Front brake, steering mainshaft, 8.0 hours
brake drum replacement and test drive

771014 Front brake: steering mainshaft 8.6 hours
and caliper brake drum replacement and test drive


Original Part Number: Use the rotor as the original part number Condition/Cause/Remedy: Describe repair in detail and reference TSB #3-revised

If additional work is required (replacement of lower control arms, replacement of tires*), submit the additional time required on the same warranty claim using a "Z" combination code in the usual manner for claiming "Z" time. If portions of the repair must be sublet out by the dealer, claim those portions of the repair in the sublet section of the warranty claim.
