Hose/Line HVAC: Service and Repair
REPLACEMENT OF REFRIGERANT LINES1. Recover refrigerant from refrigeration system.
2. Replace faulty tube or hose.
NOTE: Cap the open fitting immediately to keep moisture out of the system.
3. Torque or 0-ring and bolted type fittings
Tightening torque for 0-ring fittings
0.31 in. tube 13 Nm (10 ft lb)
0.50 in. tube 22 Nm (16 ft lb)
0.62 in. tube 32 Nm (24 ft lb)
Bolted type
For compressor 28 Nm (20 ft lb)
For condenser 18 Nm (13 ft lb)
For receiver 11 Nm (8 ft lb)
4. Evacuate air from air conditioning system.
5. Charge air conditioning system with refrigerant and check on gas leakage.
Specified amount: 600 - 750 g (1.3 - 1.7 lb)
