Replacement, Assembly and Inspection
New Gear, Cam Lever and Plate Washers:
1. Replace and assemble the new gear, cam lever and plate washers.
Note: Do not forget to install the washers. Lubricate the teeth and the shaft of cam lever with lithium grease. Lubricate the shaft of the gear with machine oil.
Thrust Washers And Ring:
2. Install thrust washers and snap ring onto the gear assembly.
Clearance Between The Thrust Washer And The Housing:
3. While pushing the gear assembly from the back, measure the clearance between the thrust washer and the housing using a thickness gauge.
Standard Clearance 0.04 mm - 0.15 mm
If out of specification, replace the thrust washers.
Rubber Seal, Crank Arm, Washer And Nut:
4. Assemble the rubber seal, crank arm, washer and nut in sequence as shown in the illustration.
Lock Plate:
5. Bend the tabs of the lock plate against the nut using pliers.
Cover Plate:
6. Install the cover plate and packing using original screws.
Wire Harness:
7. Clamp the wire harness into the wiper motor housing clamps.
Sealant Location:
8. Seal the nut and cover plate of the housing with an RTV sealant such as General Electric Silicone Sealant or equivalent.
Supply 12v Between +1 Terminal And Body:
Terminal Locations:
9. Check the operation of the motor by supplying 12 volts between the +1 terminal and body. Standard Amperage Below 4.0 A
