Improper Blower Operation
NOTE: Refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS for correct terminal identification.
1. Check gauge fuse and fusible link.
2. If both are OK, proceed to step 3. If either fuse or fusible link is blown, locate and repair short to ground in wiring circuit.
3. Check for 12 volts at blower motor terminals 1 and 2. If 12 volts are not present, proceed to step 4. If there are 12 volts, replace blower motor.
4. Check for battery voltage between terminal 2 and ground. If 12 volts are not present, proceed to step 5. If there are 12 volts, check continuity between terminal 6 of blower switch and ground. If there is continuity, repair open circuit in wire from blower motor to blower switch. If there is no continuity, repair blower switch or repair open circuit in ground wire.
5. Check continuity between terminal 3 of heater relay and ground. If there is no continuity, proceed to step 6. If there is continuity, check voltage at terminals 2 and 4. If there is no voltage, check and repair open circuit in wire to battery. If there is voltage, check and replace heater relay.
6. Check voltage at terminals 2 and 4. If there is no voltage, check and repair open circuit in wire to battery. If there is voltage, check and repair A/C cut off relay, blower switch or open circuit in wire to ground.
