Removal
AIR CONDITIONING: CONDENSER:
REMOVAL
1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (Service and Repair)
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for 2TR-FE)
4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for 1GR-FE)
5. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE (Removal)
6. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL LH (for 2TR-FE)
7. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL LH (for 1GR-FE)
8. REMOVE FAN SHROUD (for 2TR-FE)
9. REMOVE FAN SHROUD (for 1GR-FE)
10. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY (for 2TR-FE)
11. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY (for 1GR-FE)
12. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly from the cooler condenser assembly.
(b) Remove the seal washer from the discharge hose sub-assembly.
NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.
13. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the air conditioning tube assembly from the cooler condenser assembly.
(b) Remove the seal washer from the air conditioning tube assembly.
NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.
14. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts.
(b) Lift the condenser up, disengage the fitting of the condenser lower bracket and remove the condenser from the rear side of the vehicle.
(c) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw and remove the condenser upper bracket LH.
HINT: Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.
(d) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw and remove the condenser upper bracket RH.
HINT: Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.
(e) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw and remove the condenser lower bracket LH.
HINT: Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.
(f) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw and remove the condenser lower bracket RH.
(g) Remove the condenser.
HINT: At the time of installation, please refer to the following instructions. If installing a new condenser, add compressor oil to the condenser.
Compressor oil:
RL-897 or equivalent
Add 40 cc (1.4 fl.oz.)
