Installation
BRAKE CONTROL: BRAKE ACTUATOR (w/o VSC):
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the bracket with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
2. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR
(a) Install the actuator with bracket with the 3 nuts.
Torque: 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the brake tubes and wire harness.
- Tighten the bolts in order, from 1 to 3 as shown.
(b) Using a union nut wrench, connect each brake line to the correct position of the brake actuator, as shown in the illustration.
without union nut wrench - Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
with union nut wrench - Torque: 14 Nm (145 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)
- Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.8 in.).
- The torque value for use with a union nut wrench is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.
(c) Connect the brake actuator connector.
(d) Lock the connector lock lever.
NOTE: Make sure that the lever is locked securely.
3. INSTALL AIR INJECTION CONTROL DRIVER (for 2TR-FE)
(a) Install the air injection control driver with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the 2 connectors.
4. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID (Brake Fluid (w/o VSC))
5. BLEED MASTER CYLINDER (Brake Fluid (w/o VSC))
6. BLEED BRAKE LINE (Brake Fluid (w/o VSC))
7. CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR (Brake Fluid (w/o VSC))
8. CHECK FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE
9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf)
10. CHECK BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH INTELLIGENT TESTER (Testing and Inspection)
