Introduction

Some customers may experience a distortion noise from the JBL sub-woofer. This condition can occur when listening to the CD Satellite or Auxiliary audio modes. An updated JBL amplifier is available to address this situation.

This TSB applies to all 2005 - 2009 Double Cab Tacoma vehicles equipped with JBL subwoofers and produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.

Warranty Information

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure

1. Order a replacement amplifier through the JBL exchange program.





2. Remove the original JBL amplifier per the Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model year Tacoma Repair Manual:








3. Install the updated JBL amplifier per TIS applicable model year Tacoma Repair Manual:

4. After replacing the amplifier confirm that the audio distortion noise condition is no longer present.
