2UZ-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (for ACIS): INSPECTION

INSPECTION





1. INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE
(a) With 40 kPa (300 mmHg, 11.8 in.Hg) of vacuum applied to the actuator, check that the actuator rod moves.
(b) One minute after applying the vacuum in the above step, check that the actuator rod does not return.
If the operation is not as specified, replace the intake manifold.
2. INSPECT VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS)






(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:





If the result is not as specified, replace the vacuum switching valve assembly (for ACIS).
(b) Check the vacuum switching valve assembly (for ACIS) operation.





(1) Check that air flows from port E to the filter.
If the result is not as specified, replace the vacuum switching valve assembly (for ACIS).





(2) Apply battery voltage across the terminals.
(3) Check that air flows from port E to F.
If the result is not as specified, replace the vacuum switching valve assembly (for ACIS).
