2UZ-FE EMISSION CONTROL: AIR SWITCHING VALVE: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH

(a) Remove the 5 clips and front fender apron seal LH.
2. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR HOSE

(a) Disconnect the air switching valve assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the fuel hose clamp.

3. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR TUBE
(a) Remove the 4 nuts, No. 3 air tube and 2 gaskets.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the installation surface of the gaskets.

4. REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1)
(a) Remove the 3 nuts and air switching valve assembly.
NOTE: Do not hold the bracket of the air switching valve assembly.

5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH

(a) Remove the 5 clips and front fender apron seal RH.
6. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.
NOTE: Do not disconnect the hoses. If it is necessary to disconnect the hoses, first drain the engine coolant.

7. DISCONNECT NO. 2 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE
(a) Disconnect the No. 2 air injection system hose from the air switching valve assembly.
8. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE

(a) Disconnect the air switching valve assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

(c) Remove the 4 nuts, No. 2 air tube and 2 gaskets.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the installation surface of the gaskets.

9. REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2)

(a) Remove the 3 nuts and air switching valve assembly.
NOTE: Do not hold the bracket of the air switching valve assembly.
