2UZ-FE ENGINE CONTROL: AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL
CAUTION:
- The procedures should be performed by at least 2 people.
- Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe.
- The exhaust pipe is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
- Confirm that the exhaust pipe has cooled down before removing it.

1. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)






(a) Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.
(b) Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
(c) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
(d) Remove the 3 nuts and front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly pipe.
2. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY






(a) Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.
(b) Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector and 2 clamps.
(c) Remove the 2 bolts from the center exhaust pipe assembly.
(d) Remove the 3 nuts and front exhaust pipe assembly pipe.
3. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1 2WD)






(a) Using SST, remove the air fuel ratio sensor.

4. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1 4WD)






(a) Using SST, remove the air fuel ratio sensor.
SST: 09224-00010
5. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 1)






(a) Using SST, remove the air fuel ratio sensor.
