BRAKE (FRONT): FRONT BRAKE: INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL FRONT DISC
(a) Align the matchmarks, and then install the front disc.
HINT: When replacing the front disc with a new one, select the installation position where the front disc has the minimum runout.
2. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Install the disc brake caliper with 2 new bolts.
Torque: 99 Nm (1010 kgf-cm, 73 ft-lbf)
3. CONNECT NO. 7 FRONT BRAKE TUBE
(a) Using a union nut wrench, connect the front brake tube.
- without union nut wrench
Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
- with union nut wrench
Torque: 14 Nm (144 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)
- This torque value can be obtained by using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.) and a union nut wrench with a fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.) Service Precautions.
- This torque value is effective when union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.
4. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD KIT
(a) Apply disc brake grease to both sides of the No. 1 anti-squeal shims.
(b) Install the No. 1 and No. 2 anti-squeal shims to each pad.
(c) Install the 2 pads to the disc brake caliper.
(d) Install the front disc brake anti-rattle spring between the 2 pads.
NOTE: The anti-rattle spring can be used again if it has sufficient rebound; no deformation, cracks or wear; and has had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off.
(e) Install the 2 hole pins.
(f) Install the pin hold clip.

5. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID Service and Repair
6. BLEED AIR FROM BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER Service and Repair
7. BLEED AIR FROM BRAKE LINE Service and Repair
8. BLEED AIR FROM VSC ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Service and Repair
9. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR Service and Repair
10. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK
11. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL Installation
