Applicability
Introduction
Some vehicles may exhibit a distortion noise from the JBL sub-woofer. An updated JBL amplifier is available to address this situation.
Production Change Information
This TSB applies to:
^ All Japan built 2008 - 2010 Highlander and Highlander HV vehicles equipped with JBL subwoofers.
^ All NAP built 2008 - 2010 Highlander vehicles equipped with JBL subwoofers and produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

Warranty Information
APPLICABLE WARRANTY
^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.
NOTE
Amplifier must be obtained through the Harman-Becker do Sybesma Electronics exchange program to qualify for warranty coverage.
Repair Procedure
1. Duplicate the condition.
2. Order a replacement amplifier through the Harman-Becker do Sybesma Electronics exchange program.
3. Remove the original JBL amplifier per the Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model year Highlander or Highlander HV Repair Manual:
^ 2008 / 2009 / 2010 Highlander:

^ 2008 / 2009 / 2010 Highlander HV:

4. Install the updated JBL amplifier per TIS applicable model year Highlander or Highlander HV Repair Manual:
^ 2008 / 2009 / 2010 Highlander:

^ 2008 / 2009 / 2010 Highlander HV:

5. After replacing the amplifier confirm that the audio distortion noise condition is no longer present.
