Replacement
STARTER ASSEMBLYREPLACEMENT
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1 (OFF ROAD PACKAGE)
a. Remove the 4 bolts, then remove the engine under cover.
3. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY NO.2
a. Remove the 3 bolts, then remove the manifold stay No. 2.
4. SEPARATE WIRE HARNESS
a. Remove the bolt, then separate the earth wire harness from the cylinder block.
5. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the terminal 50 connector from the starter assembly.
b. Remove the nut, then disconnect the wire harness from terminal 30.
c. Remove the 2 bolts, then remove the starter assembly.
6. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the starter assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 37 N.m (377 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)
b. Install the wire harness with the nut to terminal 30.
Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
c. Connect terminal 50 to the starter assembly.
7. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS
a. Install the earth wire harness onto the cylinder block with the bolt.
Torque: 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)
8. INSTALL MANIFOLD STAY NO.2
a. Install the manifold stay No.2 with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 40 N.m (408 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf)
9. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1 (OFF ROAD PACKAGE)
a. Install the engine under cover with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 30 N.m (306 kgf.cm, 22 ft.lbf)
10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf)
