Headlamp Protector Retainer

LH Headlamp Assy:

HEADLAMP PROTECTOR RETAINER

REPLACEMENT

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH and LH.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- If the area where the headlamp unit LH is installed is damaged, the repairs listed below can be performed inexpensively through the use of a repair use bracket. This may only be done if the headlamp assembly LH itself is not damaged.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE
3. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER
4. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER FILLER LH
5. REMOVE LH HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY
6. INSTALL HEADLAMP PROTECTOR RETAINER UPPER LH

HINT:
- If the installation area of the LH headlamp assembly is damaged, use the supply bracket for low-cost repair.
- Ensure that the LH headlamp assembly is not damaged.

a. Cut off the portion indicated by the shaded portion in the illustration and smooth the surface with sandpaper.

NOTE: After cutting off the shaded portion, place the LH headlamp protector retainer upper LH against the bosses and gradually file away the shaded portion until installation is possible.

b. Install the headlamp protector retainer upper LH with the 2 screws.

7. INSTALL HEADLAMP PROTECTOR RETAINER LWR LH

HINT:
- If the installation area of the LH headlamp assembly is damaged, use the supply bracket for low-cost repair.
- Ensure that the LH headlamp assembly is not damaged.

a. Cut off the portion indicated by the shaded portion in the illustration and smooth the surface with sandpaper.

NOTE: After cutting off the shaded portion, place the headlamp protector retainer lower LH against the bosses and gradually file away the shaded portion until installation is possible.

b. Install the headlamp protector retainer lower LH with the 2 screws.

8. INSTALL HEADLAMP BRACKET LWR LH

HINT:
- If the installation area of the LH headlamp assembly is damaged, use the supply bracket for low-cost repair.
- Make sure that the LH headlamp assembly is not damaged.

a. Cut off the portion indicated by the shaded portion in the illustration and smooth the surface with sandpaper.

NOTE: After cutting off the shaded portion, place the headlamp bracket lower LH against the bosses and gradually file away the shaded portion until installation is possible.

b. Install the headlamp bracket lower LH with the 2 screws.

9. INSTALL LH HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY
10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque: 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf)

11. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER FILLER LH
12. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER
13. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE
14. VEHICLE PREPARATION FOR HEADLAMP AIM ADJUSTMENT
15. PREPARATION FOR HEADLAMP AIMING (Using a tester)
16. PREPARATION FOR HEADLAMP AIMING (Using a screen)
17. HEADLAMP AIMING INSPECTION
18. HEADLAMP AIMING ADJUSTMENT
