Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

TEMPERATURE SENSOR (A340E)

REPLACEMENT





1. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER INLET TUBE NO.1
a. Remove the 3 bolts and 3 clamps.





b. Using SST, disconnect the oil cooler inlet tube No.1.
SST 09023-12701





2. REMOVE TEMPERATURE SENSOR
a. Disconnect the temperature sensor connector.
b. Remove the temperature sensor.
c. Remove the O-ring from the temperature sensor.
3. INSTALL TEMPERATURE SENSOR
a. Coat a new O-ring with ATF and install it onto the temperature sensor.
b. Install the temperature sensor.
Torque: 29 Nm (300 kgf-cm, 22 ft. lbs.)
c. Connect the temperature sensor connector.





4. CONNECT OIL COOLER INLET TUBE NO.1
a. Using SST, tighten oil cooler inlet tube No.1.
SST 09023-12701
Torque: 34 Nm (350 kgf-cm, 25 ft. lbs.)





b. Install the 3 clamps and 3 bolts.
Torque:
12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 8.9 ft. lbs.) for bolt A
5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.) for bolt B
5. INSPECT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID
