Main Bearing Cap Bolts





Uniformly loosen and remove the 10 main bearing cap bolts in several passes, in the sequence shown.





Using 2 screwdrivers, pry out the main bearing cap, and remove the 5 main bearing caps, 5 lower bearings and 2 lower thrust washers (No.3 main bearing cap only).





Measure the Plastigage at its widest point.
Standard clearance:
No.1, No.5 0.028 to 0.046 mm (0.0011 to 0.0018 inch)
Others 0.040 to 0.058 mm (0.0016 to 0.0023 inch)
Maximum clearance 0.065 mm (0.0026 inch)

Crankshaft Bearing Cap Set Bolt
Standard diameter 10.760 to 10.970 mm (0.4236 to 0.4319 inch)
Minimum diameter 10.40 mm (0.4094 inch)

Main Bearing Cap





Install and uniformly tighten the 10 main bearing cap bolts in several steps, in the sequence shown.
Torque 27 Nm (275 kgf-cm, 20 ft. lbs.)





Mark the front of the main bearing cap bolt with paint.
Retighten the main bearing cap bolts by 90° in the numerical order shown.
