INSPECT SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
Check the diagnostic system (see Air Bag Systems; Testing and Inspection).
2. Vehicle involved in collision and airbag not deployed:
INSPECT SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
Check the diagnostic system (see Air Bag Systems; Testing and Inspection).
3. Vehicle involved in collision and airbag deployed:
Replace the seat position sensor assembly.
REPLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS
In the following cases, replace the seat position sensor assembly.
- If the seat position sensor assembly has been found to be faulty in troubleshooting.
- If the seat position sensor assembly has been dropped.
CAUTION: For removal and installation of the seat position sensor assembly, be sure to follow the correct procedure.
INSTALLATION
NOTICE:
- Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, use new parts.
- Never reuse the seat position sensor assembly involved in a collision when the airbag has deployed.
- Never repair a sensor in order to reuse it.
1. INSTALL SEAT POSITION SENSOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect the connector.
(b) Install the seat position sensor assembly with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in.-lbf)
NOTICE:
- Connection of the connector will be completed after the sensor assembly is installed.
- Make sure the sensor assembly is installed with the specified torque.
- If the sensor assembly has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the sensor assembly with a new one.
- When installing the sensor assembly, take care that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
- After installation, shake the sensor assembly to check that there is no looseness.
2. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
