REPLACEMENT
1. REPLACE VALVE GUIDE BUSHINGS

a. Gradually heat the cylinder head to 80 to 100°C (176 to 212°F).

b. Using SST and a hammer, tap out the guide bushing.
SST 09201-01055, 09950-70010 (09951-07100)

c. Using a caliper gauge, measure the bushing bore diameter of the cylinder head.
Diameter: 10.285 to 10.306 mm (0.4049 to 0.4057 inch)
d. Install the standard bushing if the diameter is within specified diameter.
Standard: 10.333 to 10.344 mm (0.4068 to 0.4072 inch)
e. Gradually heat the cylinder head to 80 to 100°C (176 to 212°F).

f. Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new guide bushing to the specified protrusion height.

Protrusion height (H): 9.6 to 10.0 mm (0.380 to 0.394 inch)

g. Using a sharp 5.5 mm reamer, ream the guide bushing to obtain the standard specified clearance between the guide bushing and valve stem.

REASSEMBLY

HINT: Thoroughly clean all parts to be assembled.
Before installing the parts, apply fresh engine oil to all sliding and rotating surfaces.
Replace oil seals with new ones.

1. INSTALL VALVES

a. Using SST, push in a new oil seal.
SST 09201-41020

HINT: The intake valve oil seal is gray and the exhaust valve oil seal is black.

NOTICE: Pay much attention to assemble the oil seal for intake and exhaust. Assembling the wrong one may cause a failure.

b. Install the valve (1), spring seat (2), valve spring (3) and spring retainer (4).

c. Using SST, compress the valve spring and place the 2 keepers around the valve stem.

d. Using a plastic-faced hammer and the valve stem (not in use) tip wound with vinyl tape, lightly tap the valve stem tip to ensure a proper fit.

NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the valve stem tip.

2. INSTALL VALVE LIFTERS
a. Install the valve lifter.
b. Check that the valve lifter rotates smoothly by hand.

3. INSTALL CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
Install the camshaft position sensor with the bolt.
Torque:9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 inch lbs.)

4. INSTALL ECT SENSOR
Install a new gasket and the ECT sensor.
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.)

5. INSTALL OIL PRESSURE SWITCH
a. Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the oil pressure switch.
Adhesive: Part No.08833-00080, THREE BOND 1344, LOCTITE 242 or equivalent.
b. Install the oil pressure switch.
Torque: 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10 ft. lbs.)
