Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLYREPLACEMENT
1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE: Wash brake fluid off immediately if it adheres to any painted surface.
3. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET
(a) Using SST, disconnect the 6 brake tubes from the actuator with bracket.
SST 09023-00100
(b) Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect.
(c) Pull the lock lever upward.
(d) Disconnect the actuator connector.
(e) Remove the 2 bolts, the nut and the actuator with bracket.
NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the brake tubes and wire harness.
4. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 nuts and the brake actuator assembly from the brake actuator bracket.
5. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the brake actuator assembly with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in.-lbf)
6. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET
(a) Install the actuator with bracket and the 2 bolts and the nut.
Torque: 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)
NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the brake tubes and wire harness.
(b) Connect the actuator connector.
(c) Using SST, connect each brake tube to correct positions of the actuator with bracket, as shown in the illustration.

Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
7. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID
8. BLEED MASTER CYLINDER SST 09023-00100
9. BLEED BRAKE LINE
10. BLEED BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
11. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE
12. CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR
13. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
14. PERFORM YAW RATE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
15. CHECK BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH HAND-HELD TESTER
