Disassembly and Reassembly

DISASSEMBLY





1. 2WD: Remove ABS speed sensor.
a. Using a pin punch and hammer, drive out the 2 pins and remove the 2 attachments from Special Service Tool (SST) 09520-00031 or equivalent.
b. Install the 3 hub nuts on the axle hub and fix them on the vice.

NOTICE: Replace the axle hub assembly if it is dropped or a shock is given to It.

c. Using SST 09520-00031, 09950-00020 and 2 bolts (Diameter: 12 mm, Pitch: 1.5 mm), remove the ABS speed sensor.

NOTICE:
- If a damage is inflicted to the sensor rotor, replace the axle hub assembly.
- Do not scratch the sealing surface of axle hub and speed sensor.

REASSEMBLY
1. 2WD: Install speed sensor.
a. Clean the sealing surface of the axle hub and speed sensor.

NOTICE: Do not stick any foreign objects to the sensor rotor.





b. Using SST 09213-58012 and a press, install a new speed sensor to the axle hub.

NOTICE:
- Do not tap the speed sensor with a hammer.
- Check that there should be no foreign objects on the speed sensor detection portion.
- Press in the speed sensor straight and slowly.
