Removal and Installation

REMOVAL
1. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
a. Rear console box cover
b. Upper console panel
c. Front door scuff plate
d. Lower finish panel
e. Glove compartment door
f. No.2 Lower finish panel

2. REMOVE CENTER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
a. Remove the A/C switch.




b. Pull out the heater control knobs.




c. Remove the 2 screws.
d. Using a screwdriver, release the 7 clips and pull out the panel, then disconnect the connector.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




3. DISCONNECT HEATER CONTROL CABLES




4. REMOVE HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY

Remove the 2 screws and pull out the heater control assembly, then disconnect the connectors.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

1. AFTER INSTALLATION, INSPECT HEATER CONTROL DIALS AND LEVER OPERATION
Move the control dials and lever left and right, check for stiffness and binding the full range of the lever and dials.
If there is stiffness or binding, proceed next step.

2. ADJUST HEATER CONTROL CABLES
a. Set heater control assembly in these conditions:
1. Air inlet control lever on "FRESH" position
2. Mode control dial on "FACE" position
3. Temperature control dial on "MAX. COOL" position




b. Adjust air inlet control cable.
Set the air inlet control door to "FRESH" position and connect the control cable and lock the clamp.

HINT: Lock the clamp during lightly pulling the outer cable in the direction, as shown in the illustration by an arrow.




c. Adjust mode cable.
Set the air inlet control door to "FACE" position and connect the control cable and lock the clamp.

HINT: Lock the clamp during lightly pulling the outer cable in the direction, as shown in the illustration by an arrow.




d. Adjust air mix control cable.
Set the air inlet control door to "COOL" position and connect the control cable and lock the clamp.

HINT: Lock the clamp during lightly pushing the outer cable in the direction, as shown in the illustration by an arrow.




e. Adjust water valve control cable.
Set the air in let control door to "COOL" position and connect the control cable and lock the clamp.

HINT: Lock the clamp during lightly pushing the outer cable in the direction, as shown in the illustration by an arrow.
