Load Compensator: Testing and Inspection
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION1. Set rear axle load.
Rear axle load (includes vehicle weight): 924 kg (2,033 lbs.)
2. Install Load Sensing Proportioning Valve (LSPV) gauge Special Service Tool (SST) 09709-29018 or equivalent, and bleed air.
3. Rear brake fluid pressure:
Raise front brake fluid pressure to following specification and check rear brake fluid pressure.
Front brake fluid pressure: 6,864 kPa (995.6 psi)
Rear brake fluid pressure: 2,707 - 3,883 kPa (393 - 563 psi)
HINT: The brake pedal should not be depressed twice and/or returned while setting to the specified pressure. Read the value of rear pressure 2 seconds after adjusting the specified fluid pressure.
4. If necessary, adjust fluid pressure.
a. Adjust the fluid pressure by changing the A or B length.
1) Low pressure-Lengthen A, B
2) High pressure-Shorten A, B
HINT: Fluid pressure change for one turn of the lock nut is 100 kPa (14 psi) and fluid pressure change for 1 mm (0.04 inch) sliding of the adjust bolt within the long hole position is 40 kPa (6 psi).
b. Torque the lock nut.
Torque: 13 Nm (9 ft. lbs.)
If it cannot be adjusted, replace the valve body.
