EGR Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION





1. REMOVE [1][2][3]VSV
(a) Remove the bolt.
(b) Disconnect the connector and 2 vacuum hoses from the [1][2][3]VSV.
2. INSPECT [1][2][3]VSV





(a) Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals.

Resistance: At 20° C (68° F): 33-39 Ohms

If there is no continuity, replace the [1][2][3]VSV.





(b) Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between each terminal and the body.
If there is continuity, replace the [1][2][3]VSV.





(c) Check that air does not flow from ports E to F.





(d) Apply battery positive voltage across the terminals.
(e) Check that air flows from ports E to F.
If operation is not as specified, replace the [1][2][3]VSV.
3. REINSTALL [1][2][3]VSV
