Preparation For Disassembly

1. Remove oil level sensor.

CAUTION: Be careful not to drop the oil level sensor.

2. Remove oil pan.
(a) Remove the 14 bolts and 2 nuts.





(b) Insert the blade of Special Service Tool (SST) Oil Pan Seal Cutter # 09032-00100 or equivalent between the cylinder block and oil pan, and cut off applied sealer and remove the oil pan.

CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the oil pan flange.

3. Remove oil strainer.





Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, oil strainer and gasket.
4. Remove knock sensor.
5. Remove engine coolant drain cock.
