Control Arm: Service and Repair
UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARM REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the rear wheel.
Installation Note: Torque as follows for steel wheels 147 Nm (109 ft. lbs.) and for aluminum wheels 103 Nm (76 ft. lbs.).
2. Remove the upper control arm by removing the 2 nuts, plate washers, bolts and upper control arm from the frame.
Installation Note: After stabilizing the suspension, torque the bolt to 177 Nm (130 ft. lbs.).
3. Remove the lower control arm by removing the two bolts, plate washers, nuts and lower control arm from the frame.
Installation Note: After stabilizing the suspension, torque the bolt to 177 Nm (130 ft. lbs.).
4. Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
BUSHING REPLACEMENT

1. Replace the upper control arm bushing by using the 09226 - 10010, 09950 - 60010 (09951 - 00490), 09950 - 70010 (09951 - 07100) SSTs and a press, remove the bushing then, by using the 09226 - 10010, 09506 - 35010 SST and a press, install a new bushing.

2. Replace the lower control arm bushing by using the 09506 -35010, 09950 - 60010 (09951 - 00540), 09950-70010 (09951 -07100) SST and a press to remove the bushing then, by using the 09316 - 20011, 09506 - 35010 SSTs and a press, install a new bushing, as shown.
