Campaign - Glow Plug System Inspections

RE: SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN FOR 1985 CALIF.. TURBO DIESEL TRUCKS

Toyota has decided to conduct a Special Service Campaign (SSC #502) on 1985 California (only) Turbo Diesel Trucks.

As explained in the attached California Dealer Letter, this campaign is related to the starting glow plug system on some 2L-T engines. Although the engine will start the cranking time may take longer than normal (over 2 seconds) under cold weather conditions due to a glow plug electrical circuit malfunction.

The Special Service Campaign Instructions will be provided only to California dealers.

The schedule of this campaign is as follows:

^ Dealer Instruction mailing - February 22, 1985

^ Owner Notification - February 28, 1985

A print-out of the affected subject trucks will be provided to Los Angeles and San Francisco Regional Service Managers.
