Campaign - Cold Start System: Overview

TO: ALL TOYOTA DEALER SERVICE MANAGERS

RE: 1985 EFI TRUCK CAMPAIGN (SSC #511)

Toyota has decided to conduct a service campaign on certain 1985 Toyota trucks equipped with 22R-E or 22R-TE engines to inspect for a possible missing gasket on the cold start injector delivery pipe.

Known owners of the subject Toyota trucks will be notified by mail on November 12, 1985.

1. Vehicles Involved:

Please refer to the attached Inspection/Repair Procedures.

2. Inspection/Repair/Reimbursement Procedure:

Please see the attached detailed Inspection/Repair Procedures.

3. Vehicles In Dealer Inventory:

All subject EFI Trucks shipped from the POE after September 16, 1985 will have this campaign completed. Vehicles in the VIN and engine number range that were shipped prior to this date should be inspected as described in the attached Inspection/Repair Procedure.

4. Parts Ordering:

Attached is the VIN Listing of the EFI Trucks retailed from your dealership that are in the serial number and engine number range for this campaign and did not have the campaign completed at the POE.

We recommend that each dealer order parts for approximately 40% of the total number of vehicles shown on the VIN Listing for initial inventory.
