Brake Adjuster: Testing and Inspection

Rear Brake Adjuster and Shoe Lever Check
Reference: Rear Brake Shoe Removal and Installation: Drum
Reference: Rear Brake Drum and Shoe Inspection: Drum

^ Check ratchet of brake adjuster (1) assembly for wear or damage.
^ Check shoe return spring, anti-rattle spring, quadrant spring and hold down spring for damage, corrosion and weakening.
^ Check for smooth movement of brake shoe lever (2) along shoe rim.
If any defective or malfunction is found, repair or replace.
