SUBJECT:
MODIFICATION OF FRONT BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY AND BRAKE PADS

MODEL:
ALL

YEAR:
OCTOBER 1995 PRODUCTION AND LATER

CONDITION:
Uneven wear on the brake pads.

CAUSE:
Upper bushing tolerance slightly large.

CORRECTION:
Install updated parts as listed in this bulletin to tighten bushing tolerance.

This bulletin is to inform you of the modification of the front brake caliper assembly and brake pads which has been effective since October 1995 production. If you experience abnormal bevelled wear on the brake pads, identify the brake calipers as being either EARLY or LATE style by checking the color of the lower caliper bushing:

^ If the color of the lower caliper bushing is Yellow, the vehicle has the EARLY style calipers. Replace the upper caliper bushing with the Green caliper bushing (p/n 55191-60G00) and install the updated Gray brake pads (p/n 558(X)-61G70).

^ If the color of the lower caliper bushing is Silver, the vehicle has the LATE style calipers. The upper caliper bushing does NOT have to be replaced. If, however, the brake pads need to be replaced, install the updated Gray brake pads (p/n 55800-61G70).
