Steering Wheel: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. On models with air bag, disarm and remove air bag module from steering wheel as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
3. On models less air bag, remove horn pad from steering wheel.
4. Remove steering wheel shaft nut.
5. Scribe alignment marks on steering wheel and shaft for installation reference.
6. Remove steering wheel with suitable puller.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Align marks on shaft and steering wheel.
b. Torque shaft nut to 25 ft. lbs.
