Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

Fig. 7 Exploded View Of Exhaust Manifold:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect oxygen sensor coupler, then release sensor wire from clamps.
3. Remove exhaust manifold cover and manifold stiffener bolt.
4. Remove exhaust pipe from manifold.
5. Remove exhaust manifold and gasket from cylinder head, Fig. 7.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Inspect gasket for deterioration or damage, replace as necessary.
b. Torque all bolts and nuts to specifications.
