Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Testing and Inspection
WARNING: Do not suck the air through canister. Fuel vapor inside VSV is harmful.- Disconnect hoses from canister.
- Remove canister.
Applying Air To "Tank" Fitting:
- When air is blown into "TANK" nozzle, a should come out from air nozzle located c the bottom of canister.
Applying Air To "Purge" Fitting:
- When air is blown into "PURGE" nozzle, no air should come out from other three nozzles due to closing of purge control valve.
Applying Vacuum To "Purge" Fitting With Vacuum Applied To "TB" Fitting:
- When air is blown into "PURGE" nozzle while applying more than 80 mmHg vacuum to "TB" nozzle, air should come out from "TANK" nozzle and air nozzle located at the bottom of canister.
- If operation differs from above description, charcoal canister must be replaced.
- Connect hoses to canister.
